The Lord made the heavens and the earth and all living things upon the earth in six days. “Then He established Himself (Istawa) on the throne”, (Al-Aaraf 7:54)  and rested on the seventh day of that first week, blessed and sanctified it. He established the Sabbath as a perpetual memorial of His completed creative work. The Nature Of Man

Humanity was created from a single being in the image of God. From that being, he created spouses both of whom have their own individuality, power to think and to do. Though created free beings, each is an indivisible unity of body, mind, and spirit, dependent upon God for life and breath and all else. When our first parents disobeyed God, they denied their dependence upon him and fell from their high positions as vicegerents (Khalifa) under God. The image of God in them was marred and they became subject to death. Their descendents share this fallen nature and its consequences. They are born with weaknesses and tendencies to evil. Just like what Adam and Eve had done, they are attempting to cover up there shame and guilt of sin through their own good efforts, but God offers them a free gift of his own righteousness to be received through the faith that He has inscribed in their hearts and strengthens them with His Ruh (Spirit). Created for the glory of God they are called to worship him and love one another, and to have dominion over his creation and care for their environment. Genesis 1:26-28; 2:7;  Psalms 8:4-8; Acts 17:24-28;  Genesis 3; Psalms 51:5;  Romans 5:12-17; 2 Corinthians 5:19,20;  Psalms 51:10;  1 John 4:7,8,11,20; Genesis 2:15

The Great Controversy Between God And Satan

All humanity is now involved in a great controversy between God and Satan regarding God’s character, law and sovereignty over this world. The conflict between good and evil originated in heaven when a created being, endowed with freedom of choice, in self exaltation became Satan, God’s adversary. He led other sinless beings into rebellion against God. Instead of acknowledging Adam and Eve as God’s (Khalifa), Satan prompted them to sin. This resulted in the distortion of the image of God in humanity, the disordering of the created world, and its eventual devastation at the time of the worldwide flood. Observed by the whole creation, this world became the arena of the universal conflict, out of which the God of love will ultimately be vindicated. To assist His people in this controversy, God sends his Spirit (Ruh) and angels to guide, protect, and sustain them in the way of salvation. Revelation 12:4-9;  Isaiah 14:12-14;  Ezekiel 28:12-18;  Romans 1:19-32;  8:19-22,26,27;  2 Peter 3:6;  1 Corinthians 4:9;  Hebrews 1:14.

This is a summary of basic Adventist beliefs with Biblical supporting texts. You will notice that some of the words used are those that would be familiar to a person of Muslim faith. This is intentional as we try to build bridges of understanding. In order to show areas of commonality between Adventists and Muslims, Qur’an references are noted which concur with some of the Biblical themes. These are not listed in the sense of “proof texts”, since not all of the Biblical concepts described in these paragraphs are supported in the Qur’an. They are given for your study in order to understand areas of agreement. Keep in mind that the Qur’an references may not concur with all of the biblical concepts noted in the statements of belief. But they are texts that are in agreement with certain important concepts in the statement. In other words, it may not be possible to construct a similar beliefs in statement only from the Qur’an sources. However you can use them to note points of agreement and to challenge the Muslim to a deeper personal faith. Used in this manner, it is our hope that it will assist in building respect and understanding between Adventists and Muslims.

01. The Taurat, Zebur and the Injeel

“BISMILA-HIR RAHMA-NIR RAHIM”

Assalamu’alaikuml

The Honored Qur’an tells us why we need to read the Taurat and the Injeel, (the Bible Scriptures). In Aal-E-Imran 3:3 it tells us the following:

‘It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) [Taurat] and the Gospel [Injeel] (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong).’
It makes it very plain that the Law and the Gospel were given for all people… “as a guide to mankind”. That mankind includes all people, not just a select few.

It teaches us in the Honored Qur’an that through Isa al-Masih (Christ the Messiah) the Gospel (Injeel) was sent. It was given as ‘guidance’ and as ‘admonition’ to those who fear Allah.

Assalamu’alaikum!

Greetings dear friend of Allah, I am certain that the reader has encountered the words of the Honored Qur’an below. Who are these people? That they must be very special there can be no doubt, but let’s look close to see who they are!

The Honored Qur’an points out a group called “The People of the Book”. The reader is invited to study Sura 3:113-115. Aal-E-Imran
“Not all of them are alike: Of the People of the Book are a portion that stand (For the right): They rehearse the Signs of Allah all night long, and they prostrate themselves in adoration.”
“They believe in Allah and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong; and they hasten (in emulation) in (all) good works: They are in the ranks of the righteous.”
“Of the good that they do, nothing will be rejected of them; for Allah knoweth well those that do right.”
